Evidence decays — why freshness matters and how to avoid a readiness drop at the worst moment.
Why it decays
Products and threats change. Evidence that was valid last year may no longer reflect the shipped product, so it stops being admissible.
Stay fresh
- Set review/renewal dates per evidence item.
- Regenerate test results and SBOMs each release.
- Re-verify after significant change.

Fresh evidence means your readiness is real on the day an auditor or buyer checks.
